On the night of 19th September 1979, the night the door’s closed for good at the Star Hotel, the club were offering free beer to the patrons of the club… FREE BEER! I’m pretty sure THAT ALONE could be the reason the riot started. I know i’d be pretty pissed off if the po-po tried to shut me down at 10pm before the band had a chance to finish. Therefore lowering my chances of pulling a Bon Scott in a piss covered gutter in front of a club in Newcastle. Even if it was only a 30second gap. For me that could be, what?… two beers? For some people… even more!
I guess it also depends on their “Only # drinks per customer” rule. Most places are at least three or four these days. So that’s another few to take-away on my 30 second tally.
Maybe they just didn’t have enough beer for 4000 people?
Take note other clubs: always be prepared!
Plus, i just really like this song and Jimmy looks fine here.

Anyway.. I haven’t heard much of the Baggsmen, but what i have heard, i like.
I heard this song on Triple J about 8-9 years ago when it came out and i fell in love. Then i happened to catch the video-clip on Channel [V], and fell even more in love. Australian satellite TV did not come with MTV back then. But it’s making up for it now with it’s half a dozen channel’s filled with shit. Speaking of such… look at the time! A teenager just had a baby they don’t know what to do with!
